Semiconductor-Nanotechnology Manufacturing Competency Model

The competency model framework for Semiconductor-Nanotechnology Manufacturing was developed through a collaborative effort involving the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) and the model champion - National Institute for Industry and Career Advancement (NIICA). The framework incorporates Tiers 1-4 of the Advanced Manufacturing Competency Model and adds specialized competencies for the Semiconductor-Nanotechnology Manufacturing industry-sector on Tier 5.

Updated in partnership with leading industry organizations (including NIICA), the Advanced Manufacturing Competency Model and the Semiconductor-Nanotechnology Competency Model identify the common knowledge, skills, and abilities needed by individuals in those endeavors. NIICA utilized these models as foundational competencies within its competency-based portal, the National Talent Hub, which allows users such as business, educators, and individuals to create an account to access dynamic tools to build job, credential, and individual competency profiles.
