Skills and abilities

Your skills and abilities are key to showing that you match an employer’s needs, so should be integrated throughout your resume. Highlight them in these sections:

• Summary statement
• A special skills section
• Accomplishments
• Continuing education

Maya emphasizes project coordination skills in her Summary. Another option could be to list them in a separate section called “Project Coordination Skills.”

Her skills are also reflected in the courses in her Continuing education section.

In addition to specific job skills, your transferable skills - those needed for many different jobs - should be included in your resume. In her summary, Maya mentions two of her transferable skills: her “exceptional analytical ability” and “talent for managing information.”
