First, visit Elevator speech to learn how to write your networking points into a 2-minute description. This "speech" should include your job goal, your best skills and experience, and what you're asking for, such as contacts or recommendations.
Next, go to Take your network online for guidance on creating or improving your social media profiles. Update your social media to use in your job search.
On your worksheet: Visit Make a list of contacts to identify people in your network. List 3-4 contacts who are likely to know people in your field or related businesses.
Reach out over social media, e-mail, or a phone call to contacts you've identified. Use your elevator speech with a concise, professional message. Thank them for their time and follow up on any recommendations they offer.
