Identify local employers

Many employers don't post their jobs. Instead, find these job openings by reaching out to employers directly.

  • Many jobs never get posted to the public. Employers find candidates through networking, employee referrals, and direct contact by job seekers.
  • To find these jobs, you will need to research companies you'd like to work for, and contact them to ask about potential job openings.
  • Use the Business Finder to search for employers in your area that typically hire people in your field, and plan to reach out to introduce yourself.
  • On your worksheet: List information on 3-4 businesses you find, to follow up with them for networking or to ask about job openings.
