CareerOneStop is a suite of free websites that help people explore careers, find training, and search for jobs.
Sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor, all resources use trustworthy data and offer information for all 50 states and U.S. territories.
Workforce professionals and teachers are important users of CareerOneStop, and this video will introduce you to key tools and resources for your work.
Let’s start with the Explore Careers section.
Here you’ll find resources to identify careers that may be a good fit, research those options, and plan a career path.
You’ll find three free assessments – the Interest Assessment, Skills Matcher, and Work Values Matcher.
They’re quick and easy to take, with results that list matching careers.
You can save your results, or print, download, or email them, as with all CareerOneStop tools.
To research careers, you’ll find profiles of more than 900 occupations, with details including a career video, job outlook, typical pay, and the education needed to get started in the field.
For broader exploration, career cluster videos show groups of related occupations.
The Find Training section describes different types of credentials and the resources that can help people pay for them.
You can look up training and degree programs, search for scholarships, or learn about in-demand certifications.
In the Job Search section, you’ll find tips and tools to help clients learn how to network, create a resume, or interview successfully.
And the Job Finder offers daily updates of authenticated job postings via the National Labor Exchange.
In Find Local Help, view contact information for local and state workforce programs, American Job Centers, youth or reentry employment programs, unemployment benefits, and more.
Use the Toolkit to access all data tools on the site. You’ll be able to identify and compare wages for different occupations and locations on the Salary Finder.
Research more than 12 million employers and target job searches using the Business Finder. And help veterans find their civilian career matches with Veterans Job Matcher.
In the Resources For section, you’ll find targeted resources for groups such as 55+ workers, youth, veterans, and justice-impacted job seekers.
