Purpose To promote the advancement of knowledge and learning in the field of child psychology.
Focus Psychology.
Qualifications Applicants must have completed doctoral candidacy; demonstrated research competence and area commitment; IRB approval must be received from host institution before funding can be awarded, if human participants are involved.
Criteria Applicants selection will be in conformance with stated program goals; magnitude of incremental contribution; quality of proposed work; innovation and contribution to the field; demonstrated competence and capability to execute the proposed work.

Duration Annual.
Number of Awards Varies.
To Apply Applicants must apply online, include the following in a single document (Not to exceed five (5) pages, one-inch margins, 11-point Times New Roman/Garamond Font, single space): Goals, relevant background/literature review; review. Methods (must be detailed enough so that the design, assessments, and procedures can be evaluated); Anticipated outcomes, significance, and impact; Project timeline (not to exceed one (1) page; typically, APF grants are for one (1) year); Detailed budget and justification (not to exceed one (1) page); Abbreviated CV (not to exceed five (5) pages); Two letters of recommendation (one from a graduate advisor and the other from the department chair or director of graduate studies).
