DuPont Water & Protection is recruiting for a Chemical Process Operator based at our Pennsauken site in Pennsauken, NJ.

The Pennsauken Plant is home to the Polyiso business. Water & Protection is a leading provider of engineered products and integrated systems for the construction, worker safety, energy, oil & gas, transportation, water purification and medical markets.

The Chemical Process Operator, operates assigned equipment or areas of the Plant, including offloading tank trucks and rail cars and equipment associated with The State of New Jersey EPA-RMP Program and OSHA Process Safety Management Standard (PSM) that are overseen by the NJDEP via the Toxic Catastrophe Prevention Act (TCPA). The Chemical Process Operator performs in any combination of required tasks associated with safe and efficient operation, performs operations related activities as per Master Task List, and performs quality checks to keep product within the quality specification required.

As a Chemical Process Operator, you will:

  • Follow Operating Discipline principles, procedures, and practices without deviation.

  • Operate process equipment using process control (HMI) operating system.

  • Monitor, collect, and input plant metrics.

  • Use trouble shooting skills to resolve process related deviations and problems.

  • Perform minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance.

Requirement:

  • A minimum of a High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 1-2 years' manufacturing/production technician experience in a chemical plant.

  • Experience inspecting, operating, and maintaining mobile equipment (i.e. fork truck)

  • Basic math skills (simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division without a calculator)

  • Ability to read a tape measure

  • Experience doing lockouts i.e. isolating hazardous energy sources.

  • Must be able to make decisions related to safety, quality, and operations with minimal amount of supervision.

  • Must have good computer skills.

You must be willing and able to:

  • Work in a team atmosphere and help other teams in time of need.

  • Work Monday - Thursday 7 AM - 5 PM.

  • Work overtime, sometimes on short notice as required.

  • Wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) including a respirator and full chemical resistant suit.

  • Lift and move objects that weigh up to 50 lbs.

  • Climb multiple flights of stairs, multiple times per day.

  • Work on elevated surfaces climbing open vertical ladders and utilizing fall protection.

  • Work in confined spaces.

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree beyond High School (Associate, Bachelor, etc.) from an accredited program

  • Valid US Driver's license
