The Senior Product Owner is responsible for conveying product vision and roadmap to an Agile delivery team by defining user stories and prioritizing product backlog. The Senior Product Owner work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

The Senior Product Owner is responsible for prioritizing and overseeing the development team's work and making sure Humana derives as much value as possible from product outcomes. Focuses on the quality of product features, responsible for defining user stories, prioritizing work in the backlog, clarifying requirements, and maximizing the value delivered by their team.

Key Accountabilities :

  • Translate business priorities to technical team members.

  • Understand customer needs and validate solutions developed by the delivery team.

  • Approve design on behalf of the verticals/journey teams.

  • Develop and execute product roadmap.

  • Review and approve user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria.

  • Conduct day-to-day interaction with the Development Team and the Scrum Master.

  • Defines and prioritizes product backlog and releases based on the evolving needs of verticals and work to achieve key results.

  • Confirm product quality.

  • Communicate value of a particular story to a scrum team and ensures user stories are well formed with clear acceptance criteria.

  • Demonstrate value of product functionality/sprint outcomes, either on an ad hoc basis or during PI planning.

  • Ability to support multiple Agile Delivery Teams.

Role Essentials

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • 5 years or more of experience in technology implementations and/or product/project management

  • Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle, Waterfall, and/or Agile Development Methodologies

  • Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, meeting facilitation, negotiation, follow-up, and problem-solving skills

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Critical thinker who can anticipate team needs and take initiative to present ideas, ask the right questions and deliver the highest quality work

  • Problem solver who can find viable solutions that meets business needs, absent from all ideal tools and resources.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with concurrent deadlines

  • Experience gathering requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified SAFe® Product Owner/ Product Manager or equivalent

  • Agile /Scrum certification (Agile Practitioner, Scrum Alliance, etc.)

  • Experience with provider network applications

  • Knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Prior experience with Agile development process in story writing

  • Ability to work with project stakeholders and remote teams at all levels in the organization in a collaborative, team environment

Work at Home Requirements

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership

  • Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.$93,000 - $128,000 per yearThis job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
