Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Transportation Manager 1 to join our team of highly qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in Roy, UT and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. Learn more about the Sentinel program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.

What you will get to do:

The selected individual will serve as the direct Manager for the SDS Transportation Team within the SDS organization.

  • Oversees daily transportation, shipping, and fleet requirements from the programs.

  • Executes training plan for all new employees to the team.

  • Oversees daily shipping operations and drivers schedules to meet program priorities and ensure procedures and processes are followed for compliance and safety.

  • Analyzes, monitors, and controls transportation metrics for senior level managers.

  • Serves as the lead Manager supporting the division on all transportation, shipping, and fleet management requirements.

  • Manages the teams daily shipping, fleet and transportation schedules and training of all personnel.

  • Manages oversight of all payable accounts and compliance with DFARS regulations.

  • Oversees all Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and compliance is met.

  • Collects and reports transportation and fleet metrics up to leadership of all functions that they oversee.

These positions will have a standard work schedule of 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree with 5 years minimum experience. An additional 4 years of experience may be used in lieu of a degree.

  • 1 year of experience leading projects or cross-functional teams

  • 3 years of Transportation Experience

  • 1 year of Hazardous Packaging and shipping experience

  • Active DoD Secret clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years.

  • Ability to obtain Special Access

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership Experience in managing daily transportation schedules and movements.

  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance requirements

  • Transportation Billing and Invoice experience. Experience handling domestic, international freight and small parcel shipments.

  • Experience with Department of Transportation Permits and requirements.

  • Experience with loading and unloading requirements for over the road transportation.

  • Familiar with Ryder payment system or other Transportation payment systems.

  • Prefer Hazmat/Explosive certification

  • Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL)

Salary Range: $82,100 - $123,100

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
