Employee Safety Program Manager

Work location: 612 E. Lamar Blvd, Arlington, Texas 76011

Work hours: Monday - Friday from 8am - 5p, will need to be responsive to employee injuries or deaths as needed

Here's What You Need

  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources, Hospital Administration, Occupations Health and Safety or similar field required or 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree required

  • 5 years relevant experience including but not limited to workplace safety, workplace violence prevention, healthcare administration and program oversight in an organization of similar size and complexity as THR; proven track record acting as an "integrator" implementing change across operations and processes as well as cross team collaboration required.

  • CSP,CHSP, COHN-S/SM or other designation within 12 months of hire required

  • CPII - Crisis prevention intervention training instructor (NCI/APS Instructor certification) within 6 months required

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for development, implementation, and oversight of assigned safety programs including workplace violence prevention.

  • Administers the System Workplace Violence Prevention program to ensure compliance with Texas Health policy and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborates with Texas Health Police, Security & Emergency Management, Patient Safety, Human Resources, Employee Health and business operations leaders in risk mitigation efforts

  • Develops, or identifies workplace violence prevention training programs in compliance with Texas Health policies and regulatory guidelines and administers the deployment and compliance of the selected training.

  • Serves as subject matter expert for Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training.

  • Collaborates with various departments in the development, and implementation of health and safety plans in the workplace according to Texas Health policy and regulatory guidelines.

  • Leverages experience, expertise, and communication skills to be a catalyst for change for system safety culture. Additionally helps research and resolve escalated employee safety situations are reported in the Event Reporting System (RlDatix), carrying forward system-level learnings to better the safety culture.

  • Leads investigations of serious work-related injuries and illnesses and OSHA complaints.

  • Leverages services offered by Workers' Compensation Insurance carriers and other vendors to help promote employee safety

  • Analyzes employee injury/illness data and reports to identify trends, and opportunities and to evaluate the impact of safety programs, initiatives, and training.

  • Provides reports/dashboard/benchmarks to EHS, HR, senior management, EOC, and others as requested.
