Job Summary and Qualifications
The ER Paramedic may provide services that are within the scope of the ER Paramedic's State Paramedic Certification without physician supervision and direction and is responsible for implementing technical procedures and care to Emergency Room patients safely and effectively. Any service provided directly to a patient must be pursuant to protocols, procedures and policies of the Hospital and pursuant to an Emergency Provider's order and in accordance with the applicable standard of care and the requirements of this Job Description. The ER Paramedic reports to the Hospital's Patient Care Director of Emergency Services. The quality of care and service given will adhere to the philosophy and objectives of HCA in order to meet the healthcare needs of patients and their families. The ER Paramedic may not perform any of the prohibited functions listed in this Job Description
Qualifications You Will Need:
Licenses & Certifications:
Paramedic EMT-P
Texas DSHS EMT-P ; Current certification/licensure in the State of Texas as a Paramedic
BCLS within 30 days of hire
ACLS within 90 days of hire
PALS within 90 days of hire
CPI within 180 days of hire
Experience:
Methodist Hospital Westover Hills opening in November 2024 will be located conveniently near Highway 151 and Loop 1604 corridor. This will be a full service, acute care hospital bringing an elevated level of care to the rapidly growing area of San Antonio and its neighboring communities to the West. The facility offers advanced technology and world-class care in a modern and beautifully designed space - the ideal environment for delivering the high-quality patient care Methodist is known for.
This 225,000 square foot facility features 54 beds, offering a full array of services including adult and pediatric emergency, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, orthopedics, robot-assisted surgery, surgical oncology, general surgery, pulmonology and gastroenterology.
