Program Description |
Adult Education/GED is a WIA Title II program serving adults age 16 and over who are in need of basic skills and English language acquisition for GED workforce and college preparation. Adult Education services are available to individuals 16 years of age and older who are not enrolled in secondary school and not earned a high school diploma or equivalent. However Individuals who have earned a high school diploma are also eligible for Adult Education services if assessment indicates a basic skills deficiency. Butler's Adult Education program offers the following classes for students needing instruction ranging from literacy through secondary education. Level placement is determined through assessment and consultation during scheduled orientations. The length of time an individual spends in the program will depend on a variety of factors including skills ability to learn motivation and goals. The curriculum hours shown and the number of training weeks are for one class session. Some people will need to attend multiple class sessions to reach their goal. Adult Education prepares people for GED testing and opportunities to pursue selected college classes in specific career pathways through the A-O-K program. Occupations shown are examples of in-demand occupations for education beyond a high school diploma are not required.
