License Description ANIMAL BREEDERS SOC Code 45-2021 Entry Salary N/A Average Salary N/A Job Description Artificial insemination technicians of animals inject prepared animal semen into female animals for breeding purposes. Technicians maintain logs of specimens used and animals bred. Embryo transplant technicians perform embryo transplants by removing embryos from a donor bovine and subsequent implantation of the embryos into a surrogate mother bovine. Requirements, Artificial Insemination Technician 1. Must complete Board of Veterinary Medicine application and submit fee. 2. Graduate from an approved course in artificial insemination of animals and/or embryo direct transfer course approved by the Board. 3. Must provide proof of legal presence in the United States. Requirements, Embryo Transplant Technicians 1. Be at least eighteen (18) years of age. 2. Have successfully completed at least six semester hours of reproductive physiology, endocrinology, and embryo transplant course work from an accredited college or university approved by the Board 3. Or be a graduate of an embryo transfer course approved by the Board. 4. Submit a completed application on forms provided by the Board. Restrictions, Artificial Insemination Technicians Immoral or unprofessional conduct. Violation of a Board Rule or Regulation pertaining to Artificial Insemination or Embryo Transfer. Performing Artificial Insemination or Direct Transfer while knowingly infected with a contagious disease communicable to animals. Misrepresentation in applying for or issuance of a permit. Violation of the Wyoming Veterinary Medical Practice Act. Restrictions, Embryo Transplant Technicians Violation of any state or federal statute or administrative Board rule regulating the practice of embryo transplant or transfer. Misrepresentation in applying for a permit. Incompetence, negligence, or use of any practice or procedure in the practice of embryo transplant or transfer that creates an unreasonable risk of physical harm to the animal or financial loss to the client. Practice beyond the scope of practice allowed by the permit. Failing to maintain appropriate records as specified in the Board rule. Failing to adequately supervise auxiliary staff including any individual directly involved in the transplant or transfer to the extent that the donor or recipients physical health or safety is at risk.
