Chemical Dependency Professional
License Description Individuals must have an associate's degree in human services or related field or successful completion of 90 quarter/60 semester college credits from an accredited school. At least 45 quarter/30 semester credits must be in courses related to the chemical dependency profession. Individuals must have supervised work experience in the field of 2,500 hours of chemical dependency counseling for applicants with an associate's degree or B.A., 1,500 hours with an masters or doctorate, 1,000 hours with licensed advanced registered nurse practicioners or psychologists, 850 hours for licensed marriage of family therapists, mental health counselors, advanced or independent clinical social workers. Individuals must pass the level I examiniation of the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.
