Taxicab Driver - Las Vegas Area
License Description
In the Clark County/Las Vegas area, taxi driver permits are issued by the Taxicab Authority. To apply for a permit, applicants must be referred by their employer. Applications must be completed in the Authority office and will not be allowed out. Requirements include: 1) Referral Sheet and Authorization of Information Sheet from a taxicab company; 2) Valid Nevada Driver's License (Class C); 3) Proof of 30 days residency and addresses for the last 3 years; 4) Last place of employment; 5) Listing of all prior convictions and pending court cases on the application form; 6) Ability to read, speak and understand English (electronic test given); 7) Physical by a medical doctor (DOT physical); 8) Completion of the Drivers Awareness Program (DAP); and 9) Fingerprints for a background check. Fees are subject to change. Fees are: application - $40; renewals, replacement or change of listed employer - $10; fingerprints - $51.25.
