License Description Applicants must: 1) Have completed a four-year veterinary medicine program at a school approved by the American Veterinary Medical Association with course work emphasizing the area of specialization. 2a) Pass the national board (NBE) and clinical competency (CCT) examinations; or 2b) Pass the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) within 5 years of application. 3) Pass a State Board jurisprudence examination. The Board accepts candidates for the Nevada examination who are within a year of graduating. The applicant must submit a letter of good standing from the dean of the school from which he/she will graduate. Applicants who have been licensed in another state must submit a letter of good standing from the state in which he/she is currently licensed as well as a letter of good standing from each state in which he/she was previously licensed. Applicants who have completed a veterinary medicine program outside the U.S. must also present the Education Committee of Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) certificate to the Board before being accepted to take the examination. Fees may be subject to change. Fees are: application/examination/initial licensing--$200; annual license renewal (active status)--$250; annual license renewal (inactive status)--$130.
