License Description Applicants must: 1) Have completed the necessary undergraduate program and graduated from an accredited doctor of podiatric medicine (DPM) program. 2) Have completed an *APMA accredited, one-year residency. 3) Pass the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners examination. 4) Pass the American Podiatric Medical examination Part III administered by the National Board of Podiatric Medical Examiners (contact the board for more information on the required examinations). 5) Submit fingerprints for a background check. 6) Submit letters of verification from the hospitals and surgical centers where you had privileges in the last year. *American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). If an applicant is currently licensed in another state, a certificate from that state's licensing board is required. Fees may be subject to change. Fees are: application --$600 ($100 of this fee is not refundable); annual license renewal--$400; fingerprints --$38.25 (may vary).
