License Description GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Conducts polygraph examinations in order to verify the truthfulness of information or statements given by the examinee. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D. and be a graduate of an examiner training school recognized by the regulatory agency. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Application must be secured from and submitted to the regulatory agency. The examinations are scheduled at the convenience of the applicant once he / she has passed a background investigation. Type examination given, multiple choice and true/false and must score 70% or more. Application fee of $50.00 includes the examination cost. Should you fail, retake the examination within forty-five (45) days. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age. There are no residency or health requirements. You must be of good moral character. For further requirements, contact the regulatory agency. You must have more than one (1) year experience as a polygraph examiner. All licenses are renewed annually by December 31. You must complete a renewal application and pay $40.00 renewal fee. Reciprocity varies. Contact the regulatory agency. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) Must attend at least twelve (12) hours of instruction in subject matter related directly to the polygraph profession during the licensing year and furnish certification of attendance with license renewal request at the end of the year.
