License Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Must be able to teach all services and work to be performed by barbers. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must have a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency, two (2) years barbering experience PLUS fifteen hundred (1500) hours in an accredited or licensed school of barbering. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Application may be obtained by contacting the regulatory agency. Scheduled examination dates, established by the Board, normally provide for quarterly opportunities. Examination is written multiple choice type and a practical examination. Must average 80%. Examination fee is $100.00. Should you fail, contact the regulatory agency, address listed below. SPECIAL COMMENTS or CONDITIONS The initial license fee is $50.00. All licenses must be renewed by July 1, annually with a thirty-one (31) day grace period, at a fee of $30.00. A $30.00 penalty charge if renewed after the grace period. May restore a license up to five (5) years by paying back fees, plus penalty fee.
