Teaching License-Standard
License Description In order to obtain a standard teaching license, the candidate must: Have completed an approved teacher preparation program at a state- or regionally-accredited institution. Possess a Bachelor's degree from a state- or regionally-accredited institution. Have achieved passing scores on the applicable teacher exams. Have completed a minimum of six semester hours of college course work in education or the major or minor area of the candidate's license within the past five years. Submit an application. Pay all application and examination fees. Graduates of out-of-state teacher education programs my be required to have their credentials evaluated by the Board or an outside credentialing agency. Licenses must be renewed every five years, subject to certain continuing education requirements. More detailed information may be obtained from the Indiana Professional Standards Board.
