License Description In order to obtain a license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine in Indiana, the candidate must: Possess a degree of doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy or its equivalent from a board-approved medical school. Have successfully passed the board-administered licensure examination. Be physically, mentally, and professionally competent to practice. Have not been convicted of a crime nor have been subject to disciplinary sanctions that would interfere with the ability to carry out professional duties. Have one (1) year of post-graduate training in a hospital or institution located in the United States or Canada. Submit a transcript of all educational records. Make a personal appearance before the board, at the boards discretion. Candidates who have graduated from a medical school outside the United States may be required to submit additional documentation. More detailed information, including application materials and test dates, may be obtained from the Medical Licensing Board of Indiana.
