Psychologists
License Description Psychologists must be licensed by the Idaho State Board of Psychological Examiners. Licensing requirements include: 1) A Doctoral degree or the equivalent from an approved college or university; 2) Two years of supervised experience; 3) Passing a written and oral exam; A license is not required for school psychologists who practice in a university or college setting, social psychologists, or psychologists working for government agencies. Public School Psychologists in Idaho must hold a Personnel Services Certificate and a School Psychologist Endorsement from the Idaho Department of Education. To be eligible for the certificate and endorsement, an applicant must: 1.) Earn a master's degree in education or psychology from an approved college or university; 2.) Complete 1,200 hours of internship within a school district under the supervision of a certificated school psychologist. Term: Licenses are renewed annually.
