Private Investigator
License Description An individual who conducts private investigations to locate missing persons, obtains confidential information, and prevents or solves crimes. Private investigators conduct surveillance, background investigations, and may provide bodyguard services.

Chapter 493, Florida Statutes.

Educational Requirements:

Two years of lawfully gained, verifiable, full-time experience or training in one or a combination of more than one of the following: Private investigative work; college course work related to criminal justice, criminology, or law enforcement; or work as a class "CC" licensed intern.
