License Description Required: A commercial fisherman is required to have this license only if he/she sells all or a portion of his/her own catch to ultimate consumers. Fees: License: $114.07; Application: None; Examination: None. Examination Frequency: N/A Exam Locations: N/A Experience Requirement: N/A Average Time to Process Application: 15 working days. Renewal Period: Annually, January 1 - December 31. Special License Requirements: Commercial Fishing License. Exception: A commercial fisherman who is also licensed as a fish receiver is not required to obtain this license if he/she also sells his/her catch to ultimate consumers. Comments: Licensee is required to report monthly landing taxes to the Department. Authority: Fish and Game Code, Section 8033.5.
