Sheet Metal Worker
License Description
A sheet metal worker may fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet-metal products and equipment such as control boxes, and furnace casings. A holder of a Sheet Metal Worker license may qualify for a Sheet Metal Contractor license which permits the holder to employ licensed workers to perform the actual work on systems. A person holding a valid license as a pipefitter or refrigeration technician is not required to obtain an additional Sheet Metal Worker license to perform sheet metal work when AC handling equipment is 10 ton or less or when heating equipment does not exceed 250,000 BTUs.
