License Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Must have knowledge of mathematics, physical sciences, and the principles of engineering. Works in the evaluation, planning and design of systems involved in the construction of facilities, such as building, utilities, etc., to safeguard the life, health and property of the public. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited school of engineering, with a curriculum of four (4) or more years. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Contact the regulatory agency for applications. Examinations are scheduled in April and October. Must pass the national uniform examination of the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying, which is a sixteen (16) hour written examination. Applicant must have four (4) years of satisfactory engineering experience. Application fee is $30.00, examination fee is $130.00 and registration fee is $10.00. Engineers-In-Training are exempt from eight (8) hours of the examination. Should you fail the examination, contact the regulatory agency for retake procedures. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION There are no age or residency requirements. You must have no convictions for a felony or moral turpitude. License are renewed biennially, at a fee of $90.00. Kentucky has reciprocity with all states.
