Certified Nurse Aide
License Description
Certified Nurse Aides provide more than 90% of the hands-on care received by nursing home residents. To be designated a CNA, one must successfully complete an approved Nurse Aide Training program and pass standardized exams. Certification is granted for 24 months at which time recertification is needed to maintain the designation of CNA and be renewed.
