License Description
JOB DESCRIPTION: A Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) is a registered nurse with advanced educational preparation that is qualified to perform in an expanded nursing role. An Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – Certified Nurse Practitioner often performs physical examinations and orders and interprets diagnostic tests, records findings, and discusses these with physicians. The APRN-CNP usually specializes in one of several areas: primary care, family practice, pediatric care, adult health care, gerontological care, or psychiatric/mental health care. The APRN-CNP normally treats patients in facilities such as public or private clinics, health centers and agencies, and private practices.
