Licensed Prosthetist/Orthotist Assistant
License Description
Applicants should be a U.S. citizen; Filed a written application for approval; Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: a. Have a baccalaureate degree in orthotics and prosthetics and completed 1,900 hours per discipline of directed employment supervised under a certified/licensed instructor; b. Have a baccalaureate degree and successfully completed an approved post-baccalaureate certificate course and completed 1,900 hours per discipline of directed employment supervised under a certified/licensed instructor; Have an associate's degree and completed postsecondary coursework in anatomy, physiology, physics, biology, chemistry, algebra, and calculus and have worked under supervision of a certified/licensed instructor for not less than four consecutive years of the past six years in an accredited facility; Have successfully completed postsecondary coursework in anatomy, physiology, physics, biology, chemistry, algebra, and calculus and have worked under the supervision of a licensed/certified instructor for not less than eight years for the past 12 years and be certified as a orthotist, prosthetist, or prosthetist/orthotist.
