License Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Provides classroom instruction in legal topics, the Kentucky Revised Statutes, laws of arrest, search and seizure and the law enforcement related legal opinions and court decisions; and performs other duties as required. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Must be licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Kentucky supplemented by one year experience in the practice of law. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Contact the regulatory agency for applications. Examination scheduled as vacancies occur. General knowledge test, with oral interview and classroom presentation, using comparative ratings. No examination fee. Retake of examination not applicable. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION There are no minimum age requirements. Must be in excellent physical and mental condition, and within acceptable weight limits. Must be of high moral character and have no criminal arrest / conviction record. SPECIAL COMMENTS or CONDITIONS Certification standards and review for certification are done by the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council.
