Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Mechanic, Journeyman
License Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Authorized to install, maintain, alter, remodel or repair of heating systems, ventilation systems, hydropic systems, burner service or cooling systems under the supervision of a Master HVAC Contractor. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and been regularly and principally employed or engaged in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning trades under the direction and supervision of a Master HVAC Master Contractor for two (2) years and three thousand (3,000) hours as a registered Apprentice. Must pass the ""Kentucky Journeyman Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Mechanic"" examination. CONTINUING EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS (after licensure or certification) Each licensee shall complete ten (10) hours of continuing education approved by the Board prior to the annual renewal of license. SPECIAL COMMENTS or CONDITIONS Certain classroom or other education may be substituted for up to one (1) year and fifteen hundred (1,500) hours of experience subject to Board approval.
