Hearing Aid Specialist
License Description
Applicants must meet the following requirements: 1) Be of good moral character. 2) Have a high school diploma or equivalency, or higher education degree in any field. 3) Complete a 2-year apprenticeship with a licensed Dispensing Audiologist or Hearing Aid Specialist. 4) Be certified by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS). 5) Pass a written and practical State Board examination. For more information on the requirements, apprenticeship or special licenses (temporary and provisional) visit the Board website. Fees may be subject to change. Fees are: initial application/license--$250; annual license renewal--$100.
