Acupuncturist
License Description
Description of Occupation: An Acupuncturist administers specific therapeutic treatment of symptoms and disorders amenable to acupuncture procedures. Selects appropriate needles and inserts them at locations of the body known to be effective in treating certain disorders. Requirements for Licensing: The Board may issue a license to practice acupuncture to any person who makes application to the Board and meets the following requirements: A. Is at least 21 years of age. B. Furnishes satisfactory evidence of completion of (1) a course or tutorial program in acupuncture which is acceptable to the Board and furnishes satisfactory evidence of three years of experience performing acupuncture or (2) is licensed to practice acupuncture by a state or territory of the United States. C. Is sufficiently proficient in the English language to carry on an appropriate conversation with patients. Examinations: Endorsement.
