License Description
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION Any individual that engages in the business of or employs others for construction, alteration, or repair of any electrical wiring used for the purpose of furnishing heat, light, or power. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to read, comprehend, and write. EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS For application procedures, contact Block and Associates. Examinations are administered on a regular basis, with a fee of $50.00 charged by Block and Associates. The examination is Open Book, with the passing score being a minimum of 70%. There is no waiting period for retesting. GENERAL INFORMATION for LICENSURE or CERTIFICATION Initial application fee is $100.00; annual renewal fee is $25.00. Failure to renew on or before July 1 of each year require a delinquent renewal fee of $100.00. After January 1 the following year a reinstatement fee of $100.00, any unpaid renewal fees plus petition to the Commissioner with reason for lapse renewal. Possession of a Certificate of Electrical Contractor Certification is not a license to do business as an electrical contractor.
