DESIGNER OF ENGINEERING SYSTEMS - Electrical
License Description
A designer of engineering systems is an individual engaged in the preparation of plans and specifications, consultation, investigation and evaluation in connection with the preparation of plans and specifications in the fields or subfield of heating, ventilation and air conditioning; plumbing systems; private sewage systems; electrical systems; and fire protection systems. Designers may not perform design services in those fields or subfields for which they do not hold a permit, unless the designer or building involved is exempt under ss. 443.14 and 443.15, Wis. Stats. Completion of technological academic training or apprenticeship program may be considered equivalent to experience but may not exceed a total of 4 years. Graduation from a course other than engineering technology shall be equivalent to 2 years of experience.
