License Description OFFICE & ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT WORKERS, ALL OTHER 43-9199 Entry Salary $20.57/hr Average Salary $23.61/hr Job Description Notaries public witness the signing of important documents and verify the identity of the signer(s), their willingness to sign the document(s), and their awareness of the contents of the document(s) or transaction. Requirements 1. Must be a resident of Wyoming. 2. Must be 18 years of age or older. 3. Must be able to read and write English. 4. Must pass an examination. 4. A $500 bond is required to be filed with the county clerk in the county where the notary public will be working. Continuing Education: There are no continuing education requirements for Notaries Public Restrictions Cannot be a convicted felon Schools located in Wyoming The Wyoming Secretary of State office regularly offers a course of study to applicants for new or renewed commission that covers laws, rules, procedures, and ethics related to the duties of a Notary Public. License Anyone wishing to become a notary public must obtain a commission from the Wyoming Secretary of States office. Notary Public commissions are valid for six years. Examination An applicant for a new or renewed commission as a notary public in this state must pass an examination administered by the secretary of state or an entity approved by the secretary of state.
