ENGINEERS Job Description Engineers consult, investigate, evaluate, plan, design and supervise construction or operation of systems in many branches of professional engineering. Requirements Engineer Intern: 1. Must complete a curriculum approved by the board of at least four years" that consists of an undergraduate or graduate degree from an ABET/EAC accredited engineering program or a combined educational background that includes an undergraduate or graduate degree from a NCEES approved engineering program. 2. Must pass the NCEES fundamentals of engineering exam. Professional Engineer License by Examination: 1. Must pass the NCEES principles and practices exam. 2. Must have four years of engineering experience after graduating with degree. Professional Engineer License for Applicants With a Doctoral Degree: 1. Must have a doctoral degree in engineering from an institution that grants undergraduate and graduate degrees accredited by ABET/EAC. 2. Must pass a written exam on professional ethics and Wyoming licensing laws related to engineering and surveying. 3. Must pass an oral interview with the board. 4. Must have four years of engineering experience obtained after applicant completes their first undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering. 5. Applicants with a doctoral degree in engineering from an institution that grants ABET/EAC accredited undergraduate and graduate degrees may be exempt from the NCEES fundementals of engineering and principles and practices exams. Continuing Education Licensees must complete thirty continuing professional competency (CPC) requirements during each two year renewal cycle. See board rules and regulations for CPC conversions by type of continuing education. Restrictions Conviction of a felony. Fraud or deceit in obtaining registration. Gross negligence incompetence or misconduct in practice. Violation of any provision of engineering law.
