License Description For education providers. The Real Estate Appraiser Board regulates individuals and firms that estimate the value of real estate, as well as appraisal management companies (AMCs), in accordance with federal guidelines. The Appraisal Subcommittee is the federal agency charged with oversight of state appraisal regulatory programs. The Appraisal Foundation, a non-profit entity designated by Congress as the source of appraisal qualifications and standards, serves as an umbrella organization for the Appraisal Standards Board and the Appraiser Qualifications Board.
