New: Locate youth employment programs in any location
Visit the new Youth Program Finder to locate youth employment programs in any U.S. location. Simply enter a place—city, state, or ZIP code—to create a list of community programs that provide career, training, or job search assistance to young people. Each list includes:
- Program names (and website address if available)
- Location (including map and driving directions)
- Contact information (including phone number, names, and emails, if available)
- An indication if the program has services targeted specifically to people with a criminal record
The Youth Program Finder was created in response to requests for help locating services for people age 16 to 24. The Finder was designed to be used by young people on their own, or by adult intermediaries. Any young adults seeking career or employment assistance can easily access it from a computer, tablet, or phone. They can also search for Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs and find out if they are eligible for more in-depth services. Counselors working with young adults who plan to relocate will also find it valuable to research services available in their new location.
The Finder includes information for nearly 2,500 programs across the country, including services offered by American Job Centers and affiliated programs, and those offered by independent community organizations. All data was collected and verified by CareerOneStop staff and is available for download directly from the tool, or via a Youth Program Finder widget that allows website owners to deliver the information directly from their own website.
The Youth Program Finder is available on both GetMyFuture.org and CareerOneStop.org.
CareerOneStop accepting submissions from job banks
CareerOneStop is accepting submissions from private and non-profit job banks to be included in our Job Finder tool. The Job Finder allows users to search for jobs by any occupation and any U.S. location. Currently, four national job banks are included in Job Finder job results: NLx, America’s Job Exchange, CareerBuilder, and Indeed.
Organizations that operate private and non-profit job banks are encouraged to visit CareerOneStop’s Job Bank Solicitation page for details on how to apply for consideration. The solicitation will remain open until 9/26/18.
Inclusion will be at the discretion of CareerOneStop, with regard to the quality of data and the reach of the job bank (average number of jobs, number of users, and other metrics). Links to job banks not selected for inclusion in the Job Finder tool may be prominently listed on one or more content pages of CareerOneStop.org. In addition, CareerOneStop may create a finder tool or other search option that will allow job seekers to find those job banks that fit their specific needs.

CareerOneStop’s new Apprenticeship Finder
Apprenticeship.gov is a new one-stop source for “all things apprenticeship.” Launched in August by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), the site features an Apprenticeship Finder that lets career seekers search for apprenticeships by city, state, and occupation. Students, workers, and employers will also find a variety of apprenticeship-related information.
"Apprenticeship.gov is an exciting new resource to connect career seekers looking for long-term careers with employers investing in their workforce," said John Ladd, Administrator, DOL Office of Apprenticeship.
DOL said the site was developed in response to a need shared by both employers looking to promote their apprenticeships and career seekers wanting to access those opportunities. In particular, the new Apprenticeship Finder tool aims to help employers promote apprenticeships across new or nontraditional industries where apprenticeships may be less common, as well as to make it easier for career seekers to find apprenticeship opportunities.
DOL collaborated with the National Association of State Workforce Agencies and DirectEmployers to create the Apprenticeship Finder using the National Labor Exchange (NLx), a jointly-sponsored resource that collects and distributes national job content. The Apprenticeship Finder tool displays thousands of apprenticeship opportunities that are updated weekly. Additional resources are planned for coming months.
Career seekers can access the no-cost website at https://www.apprenticeship.gov. Apprenticeship sponsors are encouraged to add their job listings to the NLx at no cost so they can be included in the Apprenticeship Finder tool. Secure ReEntry website provides key resources to inmates
CareerOneStop announces ReEntry.CareerOneStop.org, an online, secure version of CareerOneStop website content and tools, with all external links disabled.
ReEntry.CareerOneStop provides correctional institutions and other secure facilities with access to CareerOneStop’s full range of career, training, and job search resources—without the risk of active Internet links, which are often banned inside facilities.

- The Job Search Guide for People with a Criminal Record is a 43-page PDF document that includes all Job Search Help for Ex-Offenders website content.
- Ex-Offender Local Resources is a 132-page PDF document with names, locations, contact information, and descriptions of hundreds of local organizations in all 50 states that provide targeted employment and job search assistance to people with criminal records.
