CareerOneStop offers a wide range of career, employment, and education data as Web API Services, allowing third parties to obtain quality-controlled data sets and seamlessly integrate them into their own websites.
Enhanced jobs API is here!
CareerOneStop has launched several powerful enhancements to our Jobs API. Some of the top enhancements are:
- Large sets of results will have all the sorting options that were available in v1 only where results are less than or equal to 500.
- State searches work better. In the new API, many false matches are eliminated.
- City names have more controlled vocabulary (multiple common spellings and abbreviations will be recognized as the same location), therefore able to be filtered more accurately.
- Performance and reliability are improved, because the new API uses locally stored data, instead of passing your requests through to an external provider.
Migrating is optional.
CareerOneStop plans to continue to support the existing version (“v1”) of our Jobs API for the foreseeable future for users enrolled in API services prior to August 27th, 2024. Many customers will choose to migrate to the new version (“v2”), but that will not be a requirement at this time. Additionally, some current users will be asked to migrate to the API offered through the NLx Research Hub (see additional information about the NLx Research Hub below).
Gain access to v2.
As of August 27th, 2024, “v2” of the Jobs API is available and ALL customers who would like access will need to request access to the Jobs API. Through partnership with the NLx, all new requests for the Jobs API will be reviewed and approved by the NLx Research Hub Governance Board, with some users pointed to the offerings provided by the NLx Research Hub.
NLx Research Hub is your source for turning job postings into actionable labor market information.
While the CareerOneStop Jobs API is optimized to support job search applications, the NLx Research Hub offers an FTP server and API that are optimized for research, analysis, and product development.
The NLx Research Hub is a service of the National Labor Exchange administered by the National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA) . The Research Hub works across industry, government, and academia to improve connections between workers, employers, educators and policymakers to support the workforce and education system by increasing the amount of actionable labor market information. It provides stakeholders that rely on labor market information with high-quality, transparent, and both real-time and historical data that represents the full NLx job feed.
