About the Database

The database contains resources that list, describe, or are based on competencies, such as apprenticeship work process schedules, assessment instruments, curricula, and other competency-related resources. These resources have been assembled for use in developing and customizing competency models, career ladders and lattices, stackable credentials, career maps and career pathways, and other workforce development tools. Each database entry provides a description of the resource and a link to its location. To facilitate searching, the resources are categorized by 'type' (e.g., career lattice, curriculum model) and are linked to industry clusters that are economically important, projected to have long-term growth, or are being transformed by technology and innovation. If the resource contains competencies related to an occupation, the resource is also categorized by O*NET Occupation Family.
